Get your learners talking about kitchen utensils and equipment. Learners are encouraged to name the many illustrated items, describe their use and discuss what skills they will apply when using them. The presentation contains 10 slides and starts by showing all items used in the games. Further slides concentrate on a few skills at a time before bringing all items together again at the end. There is a reminder to ‘think safety’ on each slide. It is left to the teacher to decide how to exploit the slides which are kept simple. A vocabulary list contains the terminology for the items in the pictures. This can be used to differentiate for weaker students. The board game and cards are available in A4 or A3 format. The board game is self-explanatory - The square with the question mark can be determined at will. The cards can be printed for use as mini-flashcards or if printed on card and/or laminated could be used for ‘snap’ or ‘pairs’.
